What We Do

Children First reaches vulnerable children in Zimbabwe with a variety of interventions tailored to meet children's needs. CF focuses on providing comprehensive support in the areas of health, education, and social protection through our partners and/or sub-grantees.


  • Provision of primary health care and referrals for orphans and vulnerable children through annual school health assessments.
  • Screening for common childhood illnesses.
  • Pediatric HIV care and treatment.
  • Reproductive health education.
  • Creation and support of youth friendly centers/corners.
  • Emergency response in health-related areas.

  • Provision of block grants to schools to cover additional fees charged to students to enable orphans and vulnerable children to access primary and secondary school education.
  • Creation and support of educational opportunities for out-of-school study groups.
  • Support for early childhood development centers.
  • Training of School Development Committees and School Development Associations.
