Christian Community Partnership Trust (CCPT) CCPT Logo

Christian Community Partnership Trust is a faith-based, private-sector initiative, funded by Econet Wireless, Kingdom Bank and Renaissance Bank that supports Orphan and Vulnerable Children (OVC). In partnership with Children First, other community-based organizations (CBOs) and orphanages, CCPT offers OVC nutritional, educational, and psychosocial support.

Areas served: High fields, Hatfield, Mbare, Sunningdale, Sun Ridge, Mabvuku, Epworth, Greystone Park.

OVC Services Provided::  Psycho-social support, nutrition, clothing, livelihoods, and housing support, educational support and assistance.

Development Aid from People to People (DAPP)

Development Aid from People to People seeks to increase the capacity of highly vulnerable children, particularly those infected and affected by HIV and AIDS and those who are living outside of the family environment. In collaboration with Children First, DAPP provides children in Harare’s eastern low-income suburbs with educational assistance in the form of school fees and homework support, material support such as sanitary ware and food packages, and primary caregiver training to support and care for OVC.

Areas served: Harare, Bulawayo.

OVC Services Provided: Psycho-social support, palliative care.

Farm Orphan Support Trust (FOST) FOST Logo

Farm Orphan Support Trust works within farm communities to increase the capacity of farm workers to respond to the needs of orphans, and in particular children affected by political violence. FOST actively researches and documents the effects and extent to which political violence affects children. In collaboration with Children First and Justice for Children Trust, FOST provides legal, psychosocial support, rehabilitation, and family reunification services to children in Harare and Shamva.

Area served: Central provinces of Mashonaland and Manicaland.

OVC services provided: Psychosocial support for orphaned victims of HIV/AIDS, educational support and assistance, life skills.

Island Hospice

Island Hospice Logo

Island Hospice is the oldest hospice in Africa. It provides traditional hospice and palliative care in homes, and also provides services in palliative care clinics in urban and rural communities. Island Hospice provides children who are primary caregivers with holistic services through its Young Carers Training program. In collaboration with CF, Island Hospice provides technical support to other CF partners in setting up expanded youth friendly corners that provide palliative care, income generating activity and reproductive health training.

Areas served: Harare, Bulawayo.

New Dawn of Hope

New Dawn of Hope strives to directly provide community-based support to children infected and affected by HIV and AIDS. New Dawn works closely with local clinics, hospitals, and police who identify and refer children at risk. In collaboration with Children First, New Dawn of Hope supports children in south-west low-income suburbs of Harare through facilitating support groups and psychosocial camps, training in income-generating projects, and providing assistance to pay school fees and obtain birth certificates. 

Areas served: Dzivarasekwa, Warren Park, Snake Park, Kuwadzana, Rugare, Mufakose, Crowborough, Glen Norah, Budiriro, and Glenara.

OVC services provided: Psychosocial support, educational assistance and support, life skills, child empowerment, income generating projects.

Nhimbe TrustNhimbe Trust Logo

Working in Umzingwane district, Nhimbe Trust provides adolescent reproductive and sexual health and psychosocial support for youths in and out of school. Using theatre to explore reproductive health rights, Nhimbe Trust, through the Children First grant, will be able to reach out to 3000 youths in all the 19 wards of the district. Nhimbe Trust trains teachers and nurses in theatre skills so that they can use entertainment to teach. The organization also produces extensive materials targeted at reaching out to young people in a dynamic and participatory manner. By establishing and strengthening existing Youth Friendly Centers and streamlining child sexual protection issues, Nhimbe Trust will, through linkages with health and education service providers, ultimately reduce the number of teenage pregnancies and maternal mortality, HIV/AIDS transmission, STIs and abortion complications in Umzingwane district.

Scripture Union (SU) Scripture Union Logo

Scripture Union provides comprehensive support services to children and young adults living and working in the streets of Harare. In collaboration with Children First, SU provides children with educational and vocational training, access to basic services such as food, shelter and health, and training in income generating projects.

Areas served: Harare metropolitan Province, Kambuzuma, Mufakose, Epworth, Chitungwiza, Norton, Warren Park, Glenview, Glen Norah .

OVC Services provided: Psycho-social support, educational assistance and support, life skills, HIV Prevention, income generating projects.
